Battle of the sexes
It sucks that stereotypes of men and women can be seen everywhere. It is so annoying with the stereotypes of both sides. A man makes on average a dollar for every fifty-nine cents a woman makes in the same field. Not because they're more qualified, have better skill, or are more talented. They make more because media portrays a man to be more efficient workers. Man are always seen as emotionally detached and strong, making it easier for them to overcome physical tasks. While women are usually used to show or bring out emotion by showing their elegance and fragile nature, implying that they are much more preferred to do duties of nurture and housework. This commonly placed depiction of the gender roles can be identified everywhere concerning media. Unfortunately it determines a lot .

Oops... honest to blog....media has done it again... or was it youth?
What role does media play on its viewers? Many blame things like the misconception of beauty and the rise of teen pregnancy in movies like Juno and culturally influential characters/celebrities like Britney spears and Paris Hilton. Many would even go to the extreme to say they are the direct representation of our countries youth. Can that really be true. personally I think it's up to the viewers to determine what they learn. Personally, I think that theory is pure speculation. Juno is an awesome movie. I've seen it thousand of times and still haven't got the urge to get pregnant. One of the most infamous celebrities of our generation is Britney Spears. Yeah I admit maybe I have a CD .. or ..all of them(Don't judge me .I'm willing to bet whoever read this entry knew at least three of her songs!!) but that doesn't mean I'm going to shave my head bald and become some punchline to rehab jokes. If anything she motivates me to be the exact opposite.

I agree with you Amber, and the stereotypes placed on our lives are very frusterating. The statistic that you had of the one dollar that men earn compared to womens fifty-seven cents was something I never knew but for sure found interesting. And the weird thing is not many people are concious of the stereotypes around them and most of us just go along with them because it's what we've always been taught. I think our generation has tried very hard to get rid of these stereotypes, hopefully it will start to show soon!
I have to disagree with what you said about men making more money becuase of how they are portray by the media. Its true that men making more than women, but why, possibly the certain jobs that men takes? maybe not. However, i dont think its the media who create this steereotype that caused peole to pay men mor than women; it was the steroetype in our society that caused the media to recognize and display this fat in the sense of simply being amusing. Though, i agree with you to a certain degrees because the media can a do create stereotypes, but not on this case.
ANH-
I agree with you on this one sterotypes are a big problem in early generation. But our generation is the one trying to change it. Men do get a better look at things because supposly they are better at doing things there suppose to be stronger. Because Women are suppose to be at home taking care of kids thats what they get looked at a housewife basically. Just cause no one really speaks on what right from wrong anymore we leave our sterotype as it is.
